The short story: My family started in the suburbs of NJ with a hobby homestead. Moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains, dove head first into homesteading. I'm here to tell you, YOU CAN DO IT!!! You'll find everything from raising barn cats and large dogs to chicken feed and herb gardens. There isn't one piece of the homestead that is off limits!!! Homesteaders are a community of people with lots of heart (not to be corny but...we put the heart in the homestead), and dedicated to living a life style that resonates.
